Water Main Repair Carries $45,000 Price Tag

Repairing a broken water main at Cottonwood and Third Streets has a $45,000 price tag. Leroy Kramer, the water superintendent for the City of North Platte, says that the break was a significant one.
“It’s one of our bigger main breaks that we’ve had in a while. It’s not the first one we’ve had in this block, either,” Kramer said. “We’ve had this main break on us before. It’s kind of a major feeder line from our water tower. It’s a 12 inch pipe and it can really roll a lot of water when it breaks.”
