Plant a rain garden in your yard

This last week I had a lot of fun working to clean up Grassy Branch Creek down in Spring Hill. With the help of volunteers, we installed over 300 square feet of rain gardens. This is just one thing the Tennessee Environmental Council (TEC) is doing to improve the quality of our streams in Middle Tennessee. We are also planting native trees, installing pollinator gardens, stabilizing eroding banks and removing invasive species at The Grassy Branch Restoration Project — part of TEC’s Watershed Support Program.
