In the spring of 2016, the Public Awareness Committee of Louisiana One Call (LOC) proposed updating their logo to align more closely with the graphic guidelines recommended by Common Ground Alliance. CGA is a national association of individuals, organizations and sponsors from every facet of the underground utility industry. The Alliance was established in 2000 and is actively involved in the education and promotion
of best practices in safe digging on a national basis. The Public Awareness Committee correctly determined that having the LOC logo reflect the look of the national 811 logo would help Louisiana One Call benefit from national education and promotion efforts.
Over a period of several months, the Committee worked closely with LOC’s marketing firm, Diane Allen & Associates of Baton Rouge, in developing several logo designs to present to the Board of Directors. In late fall of 2016, a final logo was voted on and approved by the board. Since then, new billboards, advertisements, banners, apparel and the current website have been updated with the new logo.
