Miss Utility/District One Call Scholarship Program

THIS SUMMER, Miss Utility/District One Call hosted a celebratory luncheon to award scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the Maryland and Washington D.C. area through the fifth annual Miss Utility/District One Call Scholarship Program. The program considered nearly 200 applications and selected eight recipients to receive a $1,008.11 single-year scholarship. Winning applications displayed academic prowess, extracurricular involvement, strong letters of recommendation, and an exemplary essay describing the importance of Miss Utility/District One Call and how it could relate to their future careers. Miss Utility of Delmarva partnered with the scholarship program and provided an award to the winner from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Over the past five years, Miss Utility has distributed more than $40,000 in scholarships to local students and has helped raise awareness about safe digging among hundreds of young people.
This year’s scholarship recipients include: • C. Marlowe, Illinois Institute of Technology • C. Schrader, Salisbury University • L. M. Sto. Domingo, University of Maryland, College Park • A. Garbarczyk, University of Arizona • C. Keating, East Carolina University • T. Ulmschneider, Liberty University • K. Harris, Temple University • P. Fisher, Georgetown University
Miss Utility/District One Call Scholarship recipients were honored at a luncheon on July 11 at the Miss Utility One Call Center.
