Millions Worth of Road Work Set in Kent

Kent is doing millions of dollars worth of road work this year, and some projects are bigger than they appear.
City Engineer Jim Bowling said although the city’s pavement program is being bid out, there are other projects in every corner of the city. Some have already been completed, others are almost done, and others have much more work ahead.
On South Water Street, the sidewalk work taking place is just the beginning of a major project that is bringing new signals to the road, perhaps by the end of this year. There is a four month lead time on new traffic signals, which are being put up at Water Street and School Street, Cherry Street/Bowman Drive and Beryl Drive near Marcs.
