Developer’s excavation uproots society’s trees, boundary wall caves in

The 89 families residing in Nisarg Nirman Co-operative Housing society in Pimple Saudagar woke up on Sunday morning to eight big trees lying uprooted near their retaining compound wall, with a portion of the wall caving in. The trees had fallen in the early hours, thanks to reckless excavation near the boundary wall since a week by a reputable developer who owns the neighbouring plot.
Developer Manoj Agarwal, the proprietor of Gagan Constructions and Wonder Car showrooms, has plans to construct a commercial complex adjacent to the society. After Sunday’s incident, the frightened residents approached Sangvi police station and lodged a complaint against the developer. They also raised a complaint against him with the Pimpri- Chinchwad Municipal Commission (PCMC) commissioner Shravan Hardikar, requested him to stop the careless digging activities that damaged the properties of the society and also threatened their lives…(Read the full story)
