Possible Gas Shortage for B.C. During the Winter Months Despite Pipeline Repairs

It’s going to be a lean winter for natural gas users, thanks to this month’s ruptured pipeline near Prince George.
Days after Enbridge reported most damage should be repaired by mid-November, FortisBC’s spokesman Doug Stout is still asking customers to conserve energy because supplies will be limited to less than 80 per cent capacity for the foreseeable future.
“We will be monitoring the situation, both on temperatures and gas supply, and providing you updates on a regular basis throughout the winter,” Stout says. “We’re actively working to access more gas from Alberta to supplement the volumes in northeast B.C. and we’re asking you to continue your conservation efforts…” (Read the full story)
