Gas Line Struck Overnight on Belmont Street in Brockton

A gas line was ruptured late Monday night as construction crews worked on an ongoing road project.

The Brockton Fire Department responded to the area in front of Boston Market, at 756 Belmont St., at 10:12 p.m. for a report of a gas leak.

Officials initially reported an excavator struck a gas line in the street on Route 123.
