Major Gas Leak in Drogheda as Houses Evacuated and Residents in the Area Warned to Close All Windows and Doors by Gardai

A MAJOR gas leak has occurred in Drogheda, Co Louth.

Residents in the Beamore Road area are being urged to close all windows and external doors and up to six houses have been evacuated.

The leak is believed to be coming from a fractured main at the Railway Bridge.

A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana said: “There was a gas leak at Bamore Rd Drogheda (Dublin side) 5-6 houses have been evacuated.

“Chief Fire Officer at the scene. It occurred at approx. 6.05pm. No one injured.”
