See, Smell, Hear: A Natural Gas Pipeline Safety Overview

Residents of Aitkin County live and work near a natural gas pipeline but may not be aware of it, according to TransCanada Pipeline Area Manager Lee Hanson. Information regarding the Great Lakes Gas Pipeline that crosses the northeastern portion of the county was presented during the board of commissioners meeting on June 26.

TransCanada is an energy infrastructure company that has been building, operating and maintaining pipeline systems to meet energy needs of the country. It owns and operates pipelines and other associated natural gas facilities including meter stations and compressor stations. The Great Lakes Gas Pipeline was established in 1968.
