Water Main Break Floods Philadelphia’s Center City

A 48-inch water main near Sansom and Juniper Streets in Philadelphia burst before dawn Tuesday, flooding the surrounding blocks in Center City and knocking out power to hundreds of PECO customers.

The flooding was reported around 4 a.m. and about 3½ hours later the Philadelphia Water Department reported the main break had been “shut down…” (Read the full story)
