Gas service line leak under control in Bridgeport

It took crews about 45 minutes to get a gas leak under control in the city on Thursday, officials said.

“It looks like a contractor hit a service line around 1:15 p.m.,” said Ed Crowder, spokesman for Avangrid.

The gas leak happened in the 100 block of High Ridge Drive, city spokesman Av Harris said. He said Bridgeport Fire Department and Southern Connecticut Gas sent units to the scene.
