Widespread 911 outages continue in Tampa Bay

Authorities first announced an outage at 1:22 a.m. Wednesday, but close to noon, a spokeswoman for the City of Tampa said in a media alert that 911 is “once again experiencing technical issues.”
“Efforts to restore the system’s functionality are ongoing and Hillsborough County 911 Administration has been in contact with Frontier, the service provider. However, there currently is no known time frame for the restoration of the service,” the media alert continues.
