KANSAS CITY, Mo. — At least two businesses in Westport were pumping water out of basements on Thursday. A water main break happened earlier in the morning at Westport Road and Roanoke, and the water continued to rise inside stores through the afternoon.
“If you went to our basement you would hear what sounded like waterfalls hitting the pool of water, like I said, two-feet deep. Dan, my co-owner, went down in gators and they went over the galoshes. So over knee high. That’s a lot of water,” said Patrick Egger, owner of store Normal Human.
825 Studios also reported water woes, saying at least $60,000 worth of damage was done to music equipment.
